Vegan MoFo #1: Ruggles Green - Houston, TX
WELCOME TO VEGAN MOFO 2013! I will start with my farewell lunch from my old job a few weeks ago. I wanted to pick a spot where everyone in my old lab would find something. I had heard Ruggles Green is a little pricey, so I was hesitant, but my old boss offered to pay. I picked the vegetarian tacos made with mushrooms and veggies, then requested Daiya cheese to veganize the meal. The habanero salsa had a kick, so I just used a few drops per taco. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their non-vegan food, so this is a good spot for a mixed crowd. The parking lot was the worst part, because it was a bit small and mostly full at lunchtime.

ReplyDeleteThey were so good, like the mushrooms were possibly marinated before being cooked. The avocado was the creamy element, but I had to order the Daiya to encourage them to keep it on the menu.
