Vegan MoFo #3: Whole Foods Vegan Pizza
I was in Whole Foods recently, poking around the hot bar area for something for lunch. As I walked by the pizza area, I saw a pizza that was clearly made with Daiya cheese. It has a distinct appearance since it doesn't melt exactly like dairy cheese. The other toppings were veggies. I asked the person working if that was in fact vegan pizza and he said yes. I immediately ordered two slices for just $5! I topped it with a little sriracha. I went a week later in the evening and the vegan pizza was sold out for the day. They only make it in the evenings if you order the whole pizza, they don't want to waste the rest of a pizza if I only buy a couple slices. I was out running errands another day during the morning, so I stopped for pizza. It was around 11 AM and the first vegan pizza was about to come out of the oven. That pizza was topped with roasted veggies and Field Roast chunks. Nom nom nom.

Here in Austin, Thursday night is pizza night. You can get an entire pizza with—I think—3 toppings for $10. It's a great deal. Maybe they have the same thing in Houston.
ReplyDeleteWhich Whole foods was this at? Cause the one over here in the katy area doesn't like to make vegan pizza very often unless you order a whole pizza.
ReplyDeleteMollyjade - thanks for the tip! It's sooo good because the Daiya melts better in the pizza oven than my home oven.
ReplyDeleteSouthern Purple Veggie - I go to the Kirby location.
I might actually kill for a piece right now . . .
ReplyDeleteThis looks so goood!! ^^ If only they had Whole Foods in my country!
